    Daytime 7 hours transit

    19.7.2018

Pros: Clean and modern with good facilities

Cons: Have to get past security for all the good stuff

I didn't see much of the arrivals area because I rushed through and didn't realise I couldn't get back in once I went outside. Immigration and baggage collection was pretty painless though. Between arrivals and departures there are a couple of eating places and a minimart (good for cheap snacks and drinks and phone top ups). There is no hassle from taxi drivers and several security people around so I always felt safe. You have to show your ticket to get into the check in area but I had no problem getting in a few hours before my flight. This area is big and indoors, had some charging stations, toilets, dunkin Donuts (up the escalator) and some uncomfortable seating. I was worried I would end up in limbo here because my ticket said couldn't check in until two hours before my flight but lion air ignored this luckily! If you can get past security into the departure lounge/gates area you can have a very comfortable few hours. There is a lot of seating and padded benches you can lie flat on. Lots of charging stations, a few cafes and food outlets and clean toilets. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Lots of security people around outside so I always felt safe. No hassle from taxi drivers. There is a minimart outside where you can buy cheap snacks, water and top up your phone if needed. Once you leave arrivals you can't get back in. At first I thought I couldn't check in until 2 hours before my next flight but luckily lion air ignored this rule! There is a tiny minimart once you get past security but it is best to stock up on snacks and drinks beforehand. The international and domestic departure areas are connected and you can move between them. Because I was there in the daytime I'm not sure about nighttime hours but if you can get past security I think you could sleep here very comfortably. ATMs are hard to find but are to the left as you go out of arrivals in a separate little room. I didn't see any in the departure areas. I didn't notice any water fountains in the airport to refill your drinking water bottle. WiFi is available and didn't appear to have a limit but it is quite slow.

    A simple International Airport

    06.05.2017

(Guest Review by David Ong) Main Terminal – The Supadio International Airport in Pontianak is small with simple basic features. It is located some 17 Km from the city centre. The easy way to get to the city is by taxis. Passengers on arrival can buy the taxi coupons at taxi booth in the Arrivals Hall. There are only two small food outlets at the airport.
