To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Turku Airport.
What to Expect
Turku Airport (Code: TKU) is a small public terminal renovated a few years ago. Facilities are limited, but a few cafes and a souvenir shop are available. Free WiFi is available throughout the terminal, and you may use the designated work areas to charge your batteries while enjoying a comfortable seat. There are no pay-to-use airport lounges.
Sleeping in Turku Airport
While it may not be possible to stay here overnight, armrest-free seats are available if you are looking for a daytime nap. There are hotels near the airport. See our Airport Hotels section below for locations.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

The airport is open 24 hours.
Rest & Relaxation Zones
Comfortable seating, including a few rocking chairs, is available landside (1st Floor near check-in) and airside (2nd Floor near gates); most seats have armrests, but some armrest-free benches exist airside near Gate 3 for resting.
Airport Hotels
Turku Airport has no hotels, but the city is only a 13-20 minute drive away. Visit Tripadvisor to see a list of hotels in Turku, search for deals and read traveller reviews.
Airport Lounges
Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships
A VIP Lounge is available for pre-booked groups, but no pay-per-use lounges are offered for individual travellers. Location: Airside, 2nd Floor.
Drinking Water
Free water fountains are available airside near the restrooms on the 2nd Floor; no specific refill stations exist, but taps in restrooms (landside and airside) can be used.
Food & Drinks
One café (Café Eino) operates landside on the 1st Floor (hours: 5:00 AM–8:00 PM or last flight), and one café (Café Asema) is airside on the 2nd Floor (hours: opens 1.5 hours before first flight, closes after last departure, typically 6:00 AM–8:00 PM). No 24-hour food options are available.

More Airport Information
ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Arrivals Hall. Hours: Accessible when the terminal is open.
Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-Free shopping is available airside in a dedicated shop (2nd Floor, hours: opens 1.5 hours before international flights, closes after last departure). A separate gift shop (airside) sells souvenirs and snacks, operating alongside Café Asema (not “Turku Café”), with similar hours.
Family Services – Travelling with young children? These services are available to help families get through the airport easier:
- Baby changing facilities – Diaper changing tables and baby care rooms are available both landside and Airside.
- Children’s Play Area – A small area with toys and seating for families. Location: Airside, 2nd Floor near Gate 4.
Postal Services – Drop off your last-minute postcards at the airport’s mailbox. Location: Arrivals.
Working Area – Work or recharge your mobile devices in a special quiet room. Location: Airside, 2nd Floor, near the café
Buses
TKU airport is served by public Bus Line 1, which connects the airport to Turku city center (Market Square, 20-25 minutes, €3 one-way, runs every 15-30 minutes from 5:20 AM–12:40 AM). The stops are 200 meters from the terminal entrance. For more information, visit the Föli website.
