PMO Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Palermo Falcone Borsellino Airport.
What to Expect
Palermo Airport (code: PMO) consists of a small terminal with a dozen expensive eateries and shops located primarily on the airside. WiFi is available, and there are plenty of outlets to charge mobile devices. Additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to the airport’s first-class lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below.
Sleeping in Palermo Airport
Travellers report feeling safe in this airport and that airport staff are generally accommodating to overnight sleepers. Prepare to sleep on the floor. Seats on both the landside and airside are said to be uncomfortable. Reviewers are mixed about other elements that help or hinder sleep, with some finding the airport noisy and bright, while others said it was quiet with dim overnight lighting. Perhaps it’s a case of finding the right spot in the terminal. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See the Airport Hotels section below for locations, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
