Yes, the airport closes from 0 PM to 4:15 AM, but there’s is a room in the same building where passengers can stay. The room has free and unlimited wi-fi, chairs, toilet and heating. You can drink tap water, it is drinkable. – a traveller

What to Expect

The recently expanded terminal at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport (code: TRF) primarily handles domestic and low-cost carriers. Amenities are basic but include cafes, sit-down restaurants, duty-free shopping, and a couple of convenience stores. Free WiFi helps pass the time, but power outlets are few and far between, so charge up before your arrival here.

Sleeping in Torp Airport

Due to nightly closures, staying inside the airport is impossible. The is a room to the right of the main building where people can wait overnight. that For uninterrupted sleep, a hotel is nearby. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.   

Airport Hours

The airport is open from 4:15AM – 12:00AM (Mon-Fri & Sun) • 4:15AM – 10:00PM (Sat).  Overnight stays are not permitted inside the airport, but a reader tells us there a simple room inside the building where overnight travellers can stay.

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in the airport sounds like a nightmare, there is one hotel within a 5 minute drive from Torp Airport or you may want to stay in nearby Sandefjord.  Visit Tripadvisor to a list of hotels in Sandefjord, search deals and read traveller reviews.

There are no pay-per-use lounges at Torp Sandefjord Airport.

WiFi/Internet

Free WiFi is available at  Torp Sandefjord Airport. Connect to the “free-Wifi-Torp” network.  There are also free internet kiosks located in the international departure area, in front of the tax-free store, and in the terminal opposite the main entrance.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside and Airside.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to one of the children’s play areas. Location: Airside, near Gates 23-24 in the Non-Schengen concourse.

Currency Exchange – Several of the airport’s ATMs dispense foreign currency (including US, Euros, Polish Zloty, Danish Kroner, and more). A slightly wider variety of currencies are available Airside.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available in both Departures and Arrivals, during international flight departures and arrivals. Point Kiosk is available both landside and airside for any last minute needs.

Information Desk – Information, travel insurance, bus ticket sales, and other services are available at the Servicecenter. Location: Center of terminal, before security checkpoints. Hours: 6:00AM – 10:00PM.

Postal Services – Drop off your last minute postcards at the airport’s mailbox. Location: Domestic Arrivals.

Train

Torp Airport is connected to Torp Railway Station via 4-minute shuttle bus ride. Shuttle bus service is coordinated with the arrival and departure of trains, and included in the price of train tickets stopping at Torp Station.
