MRS Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Marseille Provence Airport.
What to Expect
There are two terminals at Marseille Airport (code: MRS): Terminal 1, divided into Hall A and Hall B, and Terminal 2, which serves low-cost carriers. Construction and renovations may be ongoing, with an estimated completion in 2020. Travellers report that security can be lax and seating is limited. You’ll find a variety of shops and eateries, but your options are limited in Terminal 2. Nothing is open 24 hours, so plan ahead for snacks and drinks. Free WiFi helps pass the time. Economy class passengers can pay to enter two airport lounges. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.
Sleeping in Marseille Airport
Overnight sleepers must stay on Floor 2 of Terminal 1’s Hall A, between the main concourse and the restaurant, where security guards patrol. (All other areas are closed overnight.) Luckily, there are comfortable benches, power outlets for device charging, and a carpeted floor if you want to spread out. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer free shuttle service. See the Airport Hotels section below for locations, or read traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
