To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Liberia Airport.
What to Expect
The current terminal at Liberia Airport (code: LIR), which opened in 2012 and has since been expanded, handles North and Central American flights. Facilities are limited to an eatery or two and a few shops. WiFi is available upon purchase from the Airside Cafe. Otherwise, WiFi in the rest of the terminal is paid for. Sleeping in Liberia Airport
We do not yet have any sleep-related airport reviews, but it seems this airport closes nightly. Have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night. ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Machines are operated by BAC. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: unknown.
Currency Exchange – Global Exchange – Location: Landside (Departures Hall) / Airside (Arrivals Hall). Hours: 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Departures) and 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Arrivals).
Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-Free is available for departing and arriving passengers and a small variety of shops.
Pharmacy – Sky Pharmacy and Sundries is available at the airport. Hours and location are unknown.
SIM Cards – A reader tells us there was no place to buy a SIM Card at the airport as of January 2023.
Airport Shuttle

Car Rentals

Public Bus
If you are travelling light, buses between the Liberia Airport and Liberia City run every half hour, every hour starting at 5:00 AM. The bus fare is approximately $1.00. From the city center, you can connect to onward travel.
Taxis
Private and shared taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area.
