To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Lexington Blue Grass Airport.
What to Expect
Lexington Airport (code: LEX) consists of a small, three-level terminal with three concourses (A, B, and C). The airport features several eateries and a few gift shops on both sides of security. WiFi is available to help pass the time. And for added comfort, travellers can pay to access the airport’s first-class lounge.

Remember that TSA, airline check-in, and baggage drop hours vary according to the flight schedule. Check these hours with your airline. If you are in the terminal’s public area (landside), you will not be able to get through to the terminal’s secure area (airside) until the morning.

Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-Free is not available. For any last-minute items, you will find a small selection of shops, including a Bourbon Store, A Lex News and Gift Shop, and the Blue Grass MarketPlace. Most are open at 4:30 AM.
Information Desk – If you have any questions, visit the information center for help. Location: Lobby, landside, 1st level. Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Medical Services – Urgent and emergency medical care is available 24 hours daily at the First Aid Station.
Postal Services – Drop off your last-minute postcards at the airport’s mailbox outside the terminal entrance. Stamps can be purchased at the Information Desk.

Bus
Lextran offers an express service connecting LEX airport to the downtown Transit Center on Vine Street, weekdays from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. A designated bus stop is located curbside at the airport. For route map, schedule and fare information, visit the Lextran website.
Car Rentals
Car rental desks are located on the 1st level in the baggage claim area, and rental vehicles are housed in a separate facility located next to the airport terminal. On-site car rental agencies include Alamo • Avis • Budget • Dollar • Enterprise • Hertz • National.
Hotel Shuttles
Several area hotels provide airport shuttle service: Courtyard Lexington Keeneland/Airport • Embassy Suites by Hilton Lexington Green • Hilton Lexington Suites • TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lexington Keeneland/Airport.
Some hotels can be reached by using the direct-dial courtesy phones available in the baggage claim area.
