LPA Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Gran Canaria Airport (code: LPA).
What to Expect
Gran Canaria Airport’s single terminal recently expanded to better accommodate European, African, and seasonal flights, is designed with your comfort in mind. The terminal, divided into four zones: A for inter-island destinations, B and C for flights within the Schengen zone, and D for non-Schengen zone flights, offers a range of amenities. These include free WiFi, shops, a grocery store, and various eateries (two are open 24 hours), ensuring you have everything you need during your stay. For those seeking extra comfort, economy-class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.
Sleeping Gran Canaria Airport
For those considering an overnight stay, rest assured that Gran Canaria Airport provides a safe and comfortable environment. Overnight sleepers report feeling unbothered and secure. The airport offers plenty of padded, armrest-free seating, and lights and announcements are turned down at night to ensure a peaceful rest. To cope with potentially chilly temperatures, it’s advisable to bring a blanket or dress in layers. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service. See locations in the Airport Hotels section below or read traveller airport reviews for more tips.
