What to Expect
- Kuching Airport (code: KCH) consists of a spacious and recently-renovated single-terminal with clean facilities and a wide variety of shops, restaurants and services.
- Free WiFi is available.
- Air-conditioning makes the terminal very cold! Bring a sweater.
- Tons of mosquitoes inside and outside of the terminal. Make sure to wear mosquito repellent!
- Economy class passengers can pay to enter one of the airport’s first-class lounges. See our Airport Lounges section for locations and rates.
Sleeping in Kuching Airport
- Padded, armrest-free seats are available in the Departures area.

Bus
Although not very reliable, public buses are an option if you are travelling light and on a tight budget. A list of bus routes that access the airport is available from the Tourist Information booth in Arrivals. Note: As of this update, there may be a short walk involved to access the buses, so be sure to inquire when asking at the airport.

Taxis
Prepaid taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. Stop at the taxi booth outside of Arrivals to pay for your ride. You will receive a ticket to give to your taxi driver before boarding.
Pro-Tip: A reader tells us they have a fixed price for taxis, RM 26 for the farthest, but from 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM, they charge 50% more.
