While some may find the airport staff and security to be less than accommodating, the availability of WiFi and the option to access the airport’s first-class lounge for a fee can provide a comfortable and convenient experience. Sleeping in Genoa Airport

Overnight stays are not permitted at this airport. You will be asked to leave the terminal, where you can wait outside with the mosquitoes. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available 24 hours. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Arrivals Hall, on the ground floor.

Baby Care Facilities – Available Landside (Arrivals) and Airside (Gate 4).

Currency Exchange – Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Mon – Fri) • 8:00 AM – 1:20 PM (Sat).

Duty-Free & Shopping – A duty-free store is located airside, and two other shops (confectionery and clothing store) are available.

Fast Track – To get through security quicker, you can pay €4,00 per person (book online).

Information Booth – Location: Landside. Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM daily (closed between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM).

Luggage Wrapping – Protect your luggage with Safe Bag luggage wrapping service. Rates start at € 10 per bag. Location: Departures, landside, 1st Floor, opposite ticket office. Hours: 5:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Genoa Airport is served by the following airlines: Albawings • ITA Airways • KLM • Lufthansa • Ryanair • Volotea • Vueling •Wizz Air.
Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Volabus offers an express bus service between GOA airport and the city center. Frequent departures are available for the 30-minute trip, which brings passengers to and from Brignole railway station from  5:00 AM – 11:15 PM. Minimal stops are made along the way, which include Principe railway station and De Ferrari/Centro Citta Metro station. The €6,00 bus fare (valid as of July 2019) includes a 60-minute ticket, which is good for any mode of transportation on the AMT public transportation network (same-day travel only).

Shuttle Service i24 and the Riviera Shuttle also serve the airport.

Car Rentals

On-site car rental agencies include Alamo, Autovia, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Leasys, Locauto, Maggiore, National, Sicily by Car/AutoEuropa and Sixt.

Taxis

Taxis are available outside of the Arrivals area on a 24-hour basis. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. As of this update, fixed fares of 7€ and 8€ per person (min. three persons) are available for rides to and from Principe and Brignole railway stations.

Train

The airport provides a Train & Flybus shuttle service, which connects the airport to the Sestri Ponente Aeroporto railway station. The shuttle bus stops in Arrivals (tickets available here) every 15 minutes and operates from 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM. At the time of this update, a ticket costs 1,50€.
