What to Expect

Da Nang Airport (code: DAD) is divided into two terminals, domestic and international, and both are newly built. Amenities include a range of eateries, cafes, and duty-free and souvenir shops. Free WiFi helps pass the time. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. Sleeping in Da Nang Airport

Based on traveller reviews, it seems that both terminals close nightly for a couple of hours. Benches outside the terminal fill up with other sleepers until security reopens around 4:00 AM. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service for a fee. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.

Drinking Water

A reader tells us “There is a water fountain and bottle filling station with a sign above “Drinking Water” after restaurants across from International terminal gate 4, airside.” (February 2025)

Food & Drinks

Restaurants and coffee shops are available throughout the airport, both landside and airside. At this time of this update, we do not have any information regarding the availability of any 24-hour food concessions. A mini-market on the Departures Floor, Airside, may be a good option.

Luggage Storage & Lockers

A reader tells us “Luggage storage is available at ground floor of international arrivals. It is not in the main building. You have to cross the drop-off road after leaving the main building and go to the annex, it has a glass facade. If unsure, the information desk can help you. Before 9am it is not staffed, and operations stop when the terminal shuts down for the night.” (October 2025)

Mobile Charging

A reader tells us “There is a phone charging tower that takes Vietnamese type plugs, or USB, but this tower only accommodates 2 plugs or USBs. It is located amongst seating across from restaurant “Crystal Jade Kitchen” just beyond International terminal gate 4, airside.” (February 2025)

WiFi/Internet

Free WiFi is available throughout the airport. Connect to the “AHT Terminal” network.

Security & Safety

Sleeping in any airport can include a certain level of risk, especially when travelling alone. It’s important to take certain precautions to ensure your safety and the security of your valuables. Here are a few tips:

Safety First. It’s a good idea to know where the security office is located and look for video cameras where you plan to sleep. You can also ask the security personnel for advice on the safest places to spend the night.
Don’t Seclude Yourself. If you’re travelling alone, we recommend you stay near other travellers or close to security. This will help you feel more secure and deter potential thieves.
Hide Your Valuables. It’s also important to hide your valuables. Don’t leave them out in plain view, as this could make you a target for theft. Additionally, if you are a deep sleeper, you may want to padlock your bag to something or sleep with your bag up against a wall to make it harder for someone to access zippers and pockets. We have received reports of sleepers who woke up without their phones and laptop bags. The travellers were left with just their headphones and laptop bag strap.
Stay Alert. It’s best to stay alert and awake if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Drink coffee or other caffeinated beverages to help you stay awake, and remember that you can always catch up on sleep during your flight. These simple precautions can help you enjoy a safe night at the airport.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Arrivals Hall.

At the time of this update, we could not find any hotels that provide airport shuttle service; however, several hotels can arrange transfers for a fee. See also Airport Hotels above.

Motorcycle Taxi

If you are travelling light, you may opt to travel like a local and use this budget-friendly mode of transportation. Motorcycle taxis (Xe Om) are outside the Domestic Arrivals Terminal.

Taxis

Metered taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area.
