Sleeping in Airports

Cleveland Airport Guide

Whether you have a layover, overnight sleepover or are just quickly passing through, our Cleveland Airport Guide is a great place to start planning your visit.  Here, you’ll find information on services and facilities available inside the airport – including details about airport lounges, WiFi, mobile charging points, lockers, 24-hour food options, nearby hotels, and everything in between.

CLE Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

What to Expect

cleveland airport guideCleveland Airport (code: CLE) comprises a mid-size, user-friendly terminal with three concourses (A, B and C) and 50 departure gates. There is a moderate selection of eateries and shops on both the landside and airside and WiFi is available to help pass the time. For additional comfort, economy-class passengers can pay to access one of the airport’s private lounges.

Sleeping in Cleveland Airport

After security checkpoints close for the night, all passengers are restricted to the landside areas and must re-clear security the next day when the checkpoints re-open. Travellers report that airport staff and security are friendly and accommodating to overnight sleepers and that there are some relatively comfortable spots for sleeping. Leather booths near the food court may be an option, though the food court opens at 5:00 AM, so don’t expect to sleep in. Music from the P.A. system was cited as one sleep hindrance, so bring earplugs/noise-cancelling headphones. Consider a travel mat and/or sleeping bag if you plan to sleep on the floor. For uninterrupted sleep, there are some hotels within a quick shuttle ride of the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read traveller airport reviews for more tips.

To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. You can also visit the airport’s website for current information. For more airport information, continue scrolling down to explore more in our Cleveland Airport Guide.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.  For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
