This airport should be a real international airport, it should be bigger, with good waiting rooms, good food court… – Michael
AXM Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at El Eden International Airport.
What to Expect
Armenia Airport (code: AXM) has a small terminal with four gates. Security lines can be slow, so arrive early for peace of mind. Facilities include a few eateries and small shops, though nothing is open 24 hours. Economy class passengers can pay to enter the airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for its location and access information.
Sleeping in Armenia Airport
The airport may close overnight, so camping out here may not be possible. Seating is apparently uncomfortable, so you should be prepared to sleep on the floor. For privacy and comfort, nearby hotels offer shuttle service. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.
To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. For more airport information, continue scrolling down to explore more in our Armenia Airport Guide.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
Airport Hours
A reader sent us this message: “Arrived 0345. 10 people waiting outside. Airport opened 0400. Security took everything out of everyone’s bags. Poked sticks into sealed plastic bags (potato chips, etc).”
