That’s what makers of the Ostrich Pillow would like travellers to consider. They say the product “has been designed to allow you to create a little private space within a public one, to relax and unwind. Its soothing soft interior shelters and isolates your head and hands (mind and body) for a short break, without needing to leave your desk, chair, bench or wherever you may be. ”
While the Ostrich Pillow does look comfy for the desk sleepers, I’m not sure the photos demonstrate true usefulness in an airport sleeping setting – which would be laying down on seats or the floor. Why wear it sitting up?
Also, if someone steals my bag, the last thing I want to be doing is run through an airport terminal chasing thieves with this contraption on my head. On a positive note the thieves would probably be laughing so hard upon seeing this scene that they might actually slow down long enough for me to catch-up.

Why have the arm holes? Wouldn’t that let a lot more sound in than necessary? Who would even use the arm holes? How much sound suppression does it offer I wonder?
The arm holes are for the people who would use this with their heads on a desk. In an airport, it would just look silly and have no purpose.
I really like the basic idea but the product looks absolutely ridiculous and I wonder who would really want to carry this around while traveling.
A useful case would be if you live in a noisy city and need to completely shutdown sometime. So you could use this instead of a sleeping mask and earplugs.

Looks somewhere between a big ant head and an alien, I think I would feel a little awkward wearing this in public, no matter how comfortable it is. I think I will stick to just wearing a hooded jumper to try and block out some noise
