"I had a very early flight (6am departure) from OMA last week
and arrived 2 hours early to check in to find all the ticket
counters closed at 4am (but the rental car company was open to
take my return!). Having only carry on luggage as it was a
business trip, I went to the upper lobby on the way to the gates
(which were also closed as no TSA guards were on duty yet).
Elevated above the ticket counter area is a very long and wide
balcony area that connects the two terminals, with fast food
courts on either end. In between there is the home of the
Strategic Air Command and an Air History museum. Here you will
find several groupings of couches with immovable arms but with
REMOVABLE cushions. Many of us lifted the cushions off the couches
and place them on the recently carpeted floor to make a matress. I
slept well for over an hour, waking up to an announcement that
they were opening the gates. Went down to check in and off to the
gate. A great nap and an easy, clean, comfortable and safe airport
to sleep in."
