BTV Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Burlington International Airport.

What to Expect

Burlington Airport (code: BTV) consists of a small, two-level terminal building housing two concourses (North and South), 15 departure gates, an airside restaurant, a smaller landside restaurant, and a news/gift stand. The terminal also features a yoga room and other areas to relax. Eateries and the newsstand close at 7:00 PM or upon arrival of the day’s last flight, so plan accordingly if spending the night (vending machine options are available). WiFi is available, and there are outlets for charging mobile devices. There are no private lounges at this airport.

Sleeping in Burlington Airport

burlington airport guideAfter security checkpoints close for the night, all passengers are restricted to the landside areas and must re-clear security the next day when the checkpoints re-open. Once on the landside, check out the upper level above the ticket counters, where sofas, loveseats, easy chairs and benches offer comfortable sleeping. There are also comfortable benches near the baggage claim. Consider bringing eyeshades and earplugs/noise-cancelling headphones to combat the bright lighting and noise. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels within a quick shuttle ride of the airport. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. You can also visit the airport’s website for current information. For more airport information, scroll down to explore our Burlington Airport Guide.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.  For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
