"In July 2004, I caught a red-eye from Las Vegas to connect
with a morning flight out to Sidney, Montana. The Billings airport
was clean and modern. The gate area was closed overnight so I had to
stay in the lobby until they started passenger screenings again. I
had trouble resting because the lobby was brightly lit and all the
rows of chairs had armrests, but I got a few hours in. In the
morning, I boredly wrote down on the dozens of cities with flight
service to Billings as I waited for the TSA to get to work. They
chided me for taking notes but didn't confiscate anything. The other
airport staff were friendly and helpful, and didn't bother me at
all. I'd definitely stay again, but I'd steer clear of the paranoid
TSA types in any airport in the country."
