RESOLUTE BAY, NWT

"There is a sign posted that says no overnight 'camping'." (?)

What you can look forward to:

  • open 24 hours
  • benches
  • uncomfortable seating

"This is actually a pointless review because I am sure that nobody will ever find themselves in Resolute in the Canadian arctic with no place to sleep etc. Still though, you have lots of obscure places on the site, so here is another one. The Resolute airport is a small prefab in the 'southerners' part of the settlement, as opposed to the Inuit area down the hill. There is a Coke machine. Cans cost several dollars, but this is probably the only Coke machine for thousands of kilometres so it's understandable. The chairs are padded and there are no armrests; but the airport is only operational for a few months in the summer. I am sure nobody has ever slept in the Resolute airport in its entire history. In any case you could probably get a free bed at the science base nearby if you asked nicely and had a good story."
