To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Guadalajara International Airport.

What to expect

Guadalajara Airport (code: GDL) consists of a small, modern terminal with two concourses (A and C). The airport contains numerous eateries and shops on both sides of security, with some offering 24-hour service. WiFi is available and there are outlets for charging mobile devices throughout the terminal. Travelling can upgrade their airport experience by paying to access one of the airport’s first-class lounges. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for locations and access information.

Sleeping in Guadalajara Airport

Travellers report that most terminal seating contains armrests, though one traveller found some large, comfortable couches in Concourse C. If you intend to the spend the night, make sure you bring insect repellent, as all reviewers cited mosquitos as the airport’s biggest problem. ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available 24 hours a day. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Lanside, Terminal 1 • Airside, Terminal 1, International Departures.

Currency Exchange – There are two exchange centers:

  • CI Bank offers both banking services and currency exchange. Location: Terminal 1, Landside. Hours: 7:00AM – 8:00PM (Mon – Sat).
  • Global Exchange offers 24 hour currency services. Locations: Domestic Departures, Gate 12 • Terminal Hallway to International Departures • Domestic and International Arrivals. Hours: 24 hours (Mon – Sun).

Duty Free & Shopping – Dufry offers duty-free shopping to both departing and arriving passengers in the International terminal. A small variety of retail stores, mini-markets, newsstands, and gift shops are also available. Most shops are open 6:00AM – 9:00PM.

Food & Drinks – Food concessions throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. These options are open 24 hours:
» T1, International Departures – Break Station (near Gate 4)
» T1, Domestic Departures – El Quijote (Gate 14) • Krispy Kreme (Gate 12)
» T1, International Arrivals – Krispy Kreme

Information Desk – Not available.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Mobile Charging – A reader mentioned that there are charging stations at every gate and in various locations throughout the airport. They accept a North American plus and USB cable chargers.

Pharmacy – Benavides Pharmacy is available both Landside and Airside (Gate 15). Hours: 6:00AM – 10:00PM.

Taxis

Prepaid taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. Stop at the Prepaid Taxi booth in the Arrivals hall to pay for your ride. You will receive a ticket to give to your taxi driver before boarding the taxi.
