I was amazed by this airport, since I've had some bad experiences with Russian airports. This place is great, since its a "Western style airport", with good check-in areas, illuminated, clean, with really nice access to the city. I strongly recommend it, but sleeping is only possible after the security check.

Domodedovo was a strange experience. I was catching a Swiss plane back home after having spent 6 days on the Transsiberian and another 2 in a crummy Moscow hotel room. So the cleanliness and the air-conditioning were quite welcome. The only real horror of spending the night at Domodedovo is that cleaning takes place every night at about 3 to 5 am. And the cleaning ladies wake EVERYBODY up, grannies, little kids and all. You are made to get up and walk away while they "secure the area" with red tape and vacuum and scrub. They scream and shout and the noise of the machines is incredible. This process will take about 2 hours in the upper hall seating area. Most people around us just snuggled up on the floor and tried to block out all the noise.
Otherwise, the airport is alright. It's got cash machines in the bottom floor, cheapish left luggage and a yucky pasta restaurant until rather late. Internet connection is also available (be prepared to fork out a dollar for a minute) and there is a random gift shop so you can kill time looking at useless and expensive gadgets.
Oh, the chairs are pretty bad - plastic, with armchairs. Bring a pillow. "
