To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Ibiza Airport.

What to Expect

Passenger services at the Ibiza Airport (code: IBZ) are provided primarily on a seasonal basis (May-October) in a modern, single terminal with nine gates and a variety of eateries and shops on both the airside and landside. WiFi is available to help you pass the time, and additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to the airport’s first class lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below.

Sleeping in Ibiza Airport

ibiza airport guideAs primarily a seasonal airport, the airport reportedly closes for the night between the months of November to April, so do not expect to sleep in the airport if you are travelling during this period. That said, travellers who have slept in Ibiza airport report positive experiences and good sleep. The terminal is described as clean and quiet with plenty of comfortable armrest-free seating. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. The airport is open 24 hours during the high season. During the winter months, the hours are 6:00AM – 12:00AM according to a reader who submitted a review in January 2017.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Arrivals Hall and Airside, Floor 1, boarding.

Baby Care Services – A nursing room is available. Location: Airside, Floor 1, boarding area

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Airside, Floor 1, departures.

Currency Exchange – Best and Fast Change has a currency exchange counter located on Floor 0, Arrivals Hall. Hours: 7:30AM – 11:00PM.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available. Location: Airside, on the 1st floor. Hours: 7:00AM – 10:00PM. The Express Shop is open according to flight schedules. A variety of retail shops are available, but many are closed during low season.

Food & Drinks – Food concessions operate with varying schedules, but many are closed during low season.

Information Desk – Location: Check-In, ground floor (floor 0).

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Mobile Charging – A reader tells us “For charging options, there are sockets in the entrance of the airport, specifically around the check-in area number 54 above the benches closest to the entrance.” (April 2023)

Pharmacy – Prescription meds and health and beauty aids are available at Farmacia. Location: Departures, landside, Floor 0. Hours: 9:00AM – 2:00PM and 4:00PM – 8:00PM

Postal Services – Drop off your last minute postcards at the airport’s mailbox. Location: Landside, Floor 0, Check-in Area.

Showers – Not available.

WiFi/Internet – Free unlimited WiFi is available at Ibiza Airport. Connect to the “Airport Free Wifi” network. There are also 8 internet access points within the terminal.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

IBZ airport is served by three bus routes:

  • Route 10 (Ibiza-San Jorge-Airport) offers service from the airport to Ibiza Bus Station, Formentera ferry port, Ibiza Port and San Jorge.
  • Route 9 (San Antonio-San José-Airport) offers seasonal service between the airport, San Jose and San Antonio from June 1st to October 12th.
  • Route 24 (Cala Nova-Es Canar-Santa Eulària-Airport) offers seasonal service between the airport, Santa Eulària and Cala Nova.

Car Rentals

The following car rental agencies are located in the Arrivals area of the airport: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Goldcar, Hertz, Interrent and Sixt.

Taxis

Taxis are available on a 24-hour basis at the taxi stand located outside of the passenger terminal. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. A slightly higher rate applies for service from 9:00PM – 7:00AM, weekends and public holidays. For safety reasons, only hire a taxi from the airport taxi stand, and do not accept unsolicited rides from someone posed as a driver.
