What to Expect

Granada Airport (code: GRX) consists of a tiny terminal with minimal shopping and dining options.

Sleeping in Granada Airport

Overnight stays are not permitted inside the airport, but you can stay outside on airport grounds. Have a sleeping bag and travel pillow handy for warmth and comfort.  For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Departures Hall, Floor 0, Landside.

Baby Care Facilities – If you are travelling with an infant, there are baby care facilities for breastfeeding and diaper-changing.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Airside, boarding area, Level 0.

Currency Exchange – Not available.

Duty Free & Shopping – The duty free store sells typical items such as cosmetics, alcohol, tobacco, food and souvenirs. Location: Airside, Floor 0, Departures Area. Hours: 7:00AM – last flight.

Food & Drinks – Two dining options are available: Cafetería (Location: Departures, landside, Level 0) • Fresh Self-Service Bar & Cafeteria (Location: Departures, airside, Level 0). Both are open during airport hours of operation.

Information Desk – If you have any questions, there is an information desk located landside, in the Departures Hall on Floor 0. Hours: Unknown.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Medical Services – Urgent and emergency medical care is available in the First Aid station. Location: Departures hall, landside, Level 0.

Mobile Charging – A reader mentioned that there are outlets Landside (left of security) and Airside in the cafeteria.

Police – Location: P0, Baggage Hall.

Post Office – Send off those last minute postcards at the airport. A mailbox is located in the Departures Hall, Floor 0.

The Granada’s Airport’s hours vary according to the season. For the summer season (April – October) the airport is open from 5:00AM – 9:15PM. For the winter season (November – March) the airport is open from 6:00AM – 10:15PM.

transportationAirport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

The Granada-Airport bus line offers service between GRX airport and the city center, with stops along the way at Avenida de Andalucía, the bus station, Gran Vía de Colón and Paseo del Violón, next to the Palacio de Congresos. Total trip time is 45 minutes, and at the time of this update, a single-ride ticket costs €2,90. Taxis

Taxis are available at the taxi stand located outside of the terminal. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. Fares are slightly higher on weeknights (10:00PM – 6:00AM), weekends and public holidays. The following estimated one way fares were current at the time of this update: to/from Granada city center €27 – 29; bus station €25 – 27; Palacio de Congresos €27 – 29.
