What to Expect

Aarhus Airport (code: AAR) consists of a small, renovated terminal with a restaurant, cafe and duty-free shop. WiFi is available and not much else. There are no private lounges at this airport.

Sleeping in Aarhus Airport

The airport’s terminal building opens 90 minutes before the first departure and closes 30 minutes after the last arrival. The airport’s website notes that “staying overnight is not possible at the airport.” For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. This is a small airport with nothing to keep you occupied in the event of a delay. You should bring a book or mobile device loaded with your favourite movies or TV shows to entertain yourself.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Unknown

Autoservice – HN Autocenter offers professional care of your car while you travel.

Children’s Play Areas – Climbing frames, slides, and game consoles are available in the terminal’s play area.

Duty-Free & Shopping – FLYBUY offers tax-free shopping to passengers travelling to non-EU countries via Copenhagen. A boarding pass from Aarhus Airport showing your final destination, is required for tax-free shopping.

Food & Drinks – There are no 24-hour restaurants available; however, these food options are available:

  • MIB Restaurant  – Located in the departure hall, upper level. It serves a large selection of breads, cakes, coffee pizzas, sandwiches and salads. Hours: 5:00 AM –10:00 PM (Mon – Fri) • 4:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Sat – Sun).

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Meeting Rooms – Aarhus Airport offers few options for meeting rooms. The “Freedom” meeting room can host up to 8 people, while the “Iceberg” meeting room can host up to 12 people. The airport offers a lounge for meetings of up to 80 people.

Smoking – Smoking is not permitted.

Rest Zones – There are no dedicated sleeping areas, quiet areas or rest zones. If this information has changed, click here to update this guide.

Tax Refund – Repayment of Danish VAT (applied to Danish goods and services up to 25%) can be made only to persons residing outside the European Union and who have travelled to a non-EU country. The amount may be paid only in Denmark if Denmark is the last EU destination before the final destination. Aarhus Airport is helpful in stamping Danish receipts for the Revenue Service.

Bus

AAR airport is connected by a bus service to/from Aarhus via the 925x. There is currently no timetable. The bus departs in direct connection to scheduled and chartered flights. For more information, visit the Aarhus Airport website.

Taxis are available 24-hours a day outside of the Arrivals area. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required.
