This train station is really cool - it reminds me of something from a period movie. lots of very cheap, very yummy food stalls, a huge convenience/mini grocery store, internet cafes, and sit-down restaurants... it's a loud, open, echoey hall, but every time I'm there there's people sleeping on the floor and no one bothers you. don't do it alone, but this train station (and trains in thailand in general) are not to be missed. tip for those in Thailand: if you're somehow not incredibly weirded out by it, there are tons of hourly hotels in Bangkok.
