"A nice airport to get some sleep in after you've checked in. The area inside the international departures is a 'silent zone' so there are no annoying tannoys! Always clean and tidy but very limited smoking (in the top bar!) Enough shops to keep you entertained but be warned the prices are much higher than outside the airport! A far better option is sleeping inside the airport if you arrive late or leave early rather than trying to find quick and cheap hotels in the area as Joburg has a bad reputation and obviously the criminal element are attracted to the easy pickings to be had there (as at any airport!) A much better airport to sleep in than Schiphol in Amsterdam! "

"Jhb is a very nice airport but could do with a little more features in it,the people are very rude and the ground staff are very very rude as well, they don't help u out in anyway, and stay away from the porters, they rip u off terribly they charge in any currency and will ask for nothing less then 50euro's per bag depending on were u are coming from, they watch the boards and dress in orange,so please this is a friendly advice get a push cart and do it yourself and least u will be 50 euro's richer, and follow the signs and stay away from area's where there are no people and keep ur money on ur person at all times, this is a must, only take transportation which has been arranged for u,no other u will get ripped off big time"
