"Meg and I arrived in Harare early in the day and asked the info. desk about possible hotels/hostels close to the airport as we had an early flight. Come to find out, there are plenty. The problem was that they all wanted 30 U.S. or more per person. Not wanting to pay that much, we decided we would try and sleep at the airport. The international terminal isn't that big and not very busy. Thinking that we would definitely be spotted, we decided to ask. After two "Scheduled Meetings" with both am and pm heads of security, it was decided that we could stay. The airport pretty much shuts down about 9:30 pm and everyone except the cleaning staff and a couple of security guards go home. Before leaving, the supervisor of security had us lock our big bags in one of the offices and had one of the cleaning staff guys help him switch 2 couches/benches without armrests with ones with armrests so that we could be more comfortable and close to our gear. We both slept great all night. "
